Jake & Rachael | Columbus, WI Engagement

After pretending to wipe out during their date on an ice skating rink, Jake got up on one knee and proposed to Rachael with a beautiful marquise diamond ring, an heirloom from his family. These two college sweethearts are now engaged after 4 years of dating, and in order to squeeze in their engagement session before Jake went to Georgia for National Guard Basic Training, we quickly planned a day and time for their photos in mid-February, the day before he left. We ended up having a gorgeous snowfall that morning, and the beautiful winter wonderland scene definitely made up for the snow down the boots, throbbing fingers and toes, slipping and falling (that was totally me) and almost getting our cars stuck! I'm so in love with the joy and warmth that was captured in these photos, and I hope you enjoy them as well.

Jake and Rachael are so comfortable and happy together, and I loved having the opportunity to capture that emotion. I am so happy that Rachael will have these photos to cherish while Jake is away - I know that long distance is not always easy. Thank you to both of you for being such troopers in the cold and making my job so easy!! I can't wait for your (much warmer) July wedding, and I am so excited for you both as you are about to start your forever together!
